We were lucky enough to have the good people of Shepparton support us in making ‘Rain for Morgan’, and their local paper published a little piece about the film.

Melbourne screenings coming soon!June 22, 2010
We’ve been holding off on a Melbourne screening for a while now (much to the distress of our supportive family and friends!) while we waited to see if Melbourne International Film Festival (who have a Victorian Premiere requirement) wanted to screen us. Sadly, we weren’t accepted -but the good news is that we can now plan our own launch party!
Both Melbourne and Shepparton screenings are on the cards, so stay tuned.
Morgan makes its American debut!
We’re excited to announce that the Ohio Independent Film Festival will be screening ‘Rain for Morgan’ on June 12, 2010. Click here to check out their website.
The first round of festivals…April 12, 2010
We are very very excited to announce that ‘Rain for Morgan’ has started the festival trail – we’ve just been accepted into the International Film Festival of Ireland this September, as well as Wales, South Africa, Thailand and Egypt (yes, Egypt!) screenings being locked in too.
As part of the Ireland screening, Marisa will get to give a ‘Director’s Introduction’, as well as host a Q&A session afterwards… gulp.
Poster!December 8, 2009
As an engagement present to Chris Saxton and Fleur Murphy, Tomkins and I designed a mockup of the ‘Rain for Morgan’ poster and had it blown up and framed. Strangely, it was massively exciting to see the finished product. Suddenly the film felt much more like one of those ‘proper films’. Exciting times.
Off to foley!December 6, 2009
We are really excited that John Simpson, of Feet’n'Frames, will be doing our foley mix over in South Australia – not just because he’s one of Australia’s best, but because it’s another crazy location that we can add to the production of this film.
It’s a tad daggy, but here’s Chris and me with the locked off edit (yikes!) just before we posted it off.
Violin Recording.November 29, 2009
Here’s some footage of the quite amazing Quyen Le recording violin for the score at composer Tom Rouch’s house.
UnderwaterJuly 22, 2009
So after trying to drown Fleur in the Ballarat Sports Pool, we’ve finally wrapped principal photography for Rain for Morgan. Here’s a clip with the results.
On the beachJune 14, 2009
A cold and blustery winters day and we chose to shoot at a remote, deserted beach in Wonthaggi, which turned out to be not really that remote or deserted. No matter, will fix it in post, and the waves were magnificent… even if we did force Fleur into dealing with her fear of water one last time.
Here’s some footage, once again courtesy of Dave Williams.
And some photos, thanks to Rowan Austin.
More dusty adventures.May 23, 2009
Footage of the crazy dust storm that halted production whilst shooting – big thanks to David Williams for putting this together.
